History & Background

Jamia Islamia Tarteelul Quran has emerged as one of the best Islamic education institutes in the country in a short time. Maulana Qari Abdul Qadir founded Jamia Islamia Tarteelul Quran in 1968 in a small mosque, in Lahore. When it was first established, the total number of students was just nine, but now it has reached thirteen hundred, out of which, one hundred seventy students graduate every year.

The  campus in  Model Town Link Rd, Bhatti Colony Lahore is spread over an area of 40 marla  comprising the main building with well-equipped classrooms, library, hostel, play-field and a mosque. The library has over five hundred books on different subjects, while the two-story mosque has the capacity of more than one thousand worshippers.

In the beginning, the institute only offered Dars-e-Nizami Program but over time, many other programs were added. Unlike other seminaries, the program duration of Dars-e-Nizami offered by jamia islamia tarteelul quran is six years instead of eight. Besides Dars-e-Nizami program , Tarteelul Quran Islamic Institute also offers One-year Islamic Learning Program and Quran Memorization Program for Kids. One of the distinctive features of Dars-e-Nizami Program offered by Tateelul Quran is the prime focus on Arabic Language. The teachers make special efforts to help students learn Arabic through more practical approach. Students are also encouraged to use Arabic language in everyday conversations, that’s why the graduates of Tarteelul Quran are more proficient in Arabic language and expression.

Message From the Founder

In the name of Allah, the most beneficent, the most merciful!
Assalam-o-Alaikum Wa’Rahmatullahi Wa’Barakatuhu!

Welcome to the official website of Tarteelul Quran Islamic Institute.

Founded in 1968, Tarteelul Quran is the actualization of my long-cherished dream to establish a platform that propagates the unbiased teachings of Islam, and build a community that reflects the true spirit of Islam; peace and love.

It is quite pertinent that the Muslims around the globe are going through the toughest time in history surrounded by many conspiracies created by their enemies, among which the misconception “Islam teaches violence”, spread by the Western media tops all. In addition to that, Muslims are themselves divided into many sectarian groups that lack tolerance and mutual understanding, posing damage to the positive image of Islam.

I absolutely believe that it is the need of the hour to revive the concept of ‘One Ummah’ and liberate the Muslims from the chains of sectarianism and prejudices. For that very reason, I founded Tarteelul Quran to inculcate in the Muslim youth the values of tolerance and forgiveness. I want my students to be tolerant of different people’s opinions, learn to forgive others’ offences and respond to hatred with love and kindness. I desire to build a community enriched with the morals and ethics of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and their every action reflects his way of life.

What distinguishes Jamia Tarteelul Quran is Arabic Language so that the true meaning of the Holy Quran could be understood in its entirety. This will help connect the students to Holy Quran and their every thought and action will be under the influence of Quranic teachings.

I am grateful to Almighty Allah for turning my vision into reality and I am willing to do all it takes to serve my religion and my country until my last breath, Insha’Allah.
May Allah’s blessings and peace be always upon us!

Qari Abdul Qadir (R.A)
